Head of Commercial

About the role

You will take lead developing new sponsorship revenue streams across their portfolios, through sourcing new high-profile partners and ensuring the retention of longstanding customers in addition to standing revenues across the Magazine Fairs.

As Head of Commercial you will

  • Own overall commercial responsibility for the sales function, ensuring all stand and sponsorship targets are reached for each of the events, with a robust sales plan in place to track monthly performance.
  • Manage the sales team, with ability to coach, train and manage them to ensure that commercial targets are achieved, and the team remain highly motivated.
  • Responsible for leading both stand and sponsorship sales across the portfolio ensuring personal sales targets are achieved and exceeded through generating new business and retaining existing clients.
  • Ensure good account management, with robust processes in place for larger clients and sponsors, with detailed debriefs at the end of each campaign.
  • Ensure a clear sales strategy is in place for each of the shows across stand and sponsorship sales, which would be written alongside the wider event plan, including overall sales targets, KPIs, yields, category management and retention and new business targets.
  • Create and maintain sales collateral across the Shows, including media packs and sponsorship decks, which can be shared with clients.
  • Develop relationships with teams across the business including other Immediate Live sales teams and wider sales teams including the brand and partnership sales team, to create opportunities for cross selling the shows in wider proposals.

Requirements

  • Passionate and highly skilled sales leader who is target driven.
  • A natural leader, who thinks strategically and creatively for commercial gain, and can execute a plan that delivers results.
  • Knowledge and experience in sales planning, pipeline management, KPI metrics, delivering results and detailed reporting are fundamental to this role.
  • Outstanding negotiation and objection handing skills.
  • Natural networker.
  • Passion for organising events.
  • Effective manager, leader, coach, and mentor.
  • Effective delegator.
