Resource Operations Director
12 Months Fixed Term Contract
£75k per annum
Central London / Hybrid

Our client is a leading global communications firm helping business and organisations evolve, promote, and protect their brands and reputations. They are independent, and family owned, which allows the freedom to deliver original thinking and invest in our clients. In the UK, there are more than 500 employees based in the London offices .They create award winning creative communication programmes for global clients who include IT services, tech, retail, pharmaceuticals and brewing etc.

The Resource Management Team are looking to hire a passionate and proactive Resource Director who can use their prior experience working in the PR industry to hit the ground running on this 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Duties:

  • As Resource Director you will be responsible for managing the Brand resource pool of approx. 90 people across EMEA, optimising resourcing needs between the regions. You will also support a Resource Manager responsible for managing our Assembly and Purpose Teams (SSIP) of approx. 60 people.
  • Work with client leads/project managers, people managers and business managers to assess planning and project management needs on upcoming projects/retainers
  • Manages project assignments within and across resource pools, serving as the single point of contact for client teams to fulfil specific resourcing needs
  • In partnership with client leads and people managers identify right staffing for project
  • Liaising with individual line managers, staff projects intelligently, maximising individual strengths and skill sets
  • Manages periodic updates to staff plans throughout a project
  • Compiles reports on staff availability and bill ability on a regular basis
  • Analyses project trends and forecast data to inform the headcount planning process and incl skills gaps and in partnership with client leads and people managers, identify hiring needs
  • Help to train account leads on using Microsoft Dynamics PSA (resource management tool) to ensure all new projects are uploaded in a timely manner and updated each month
  • Work with managing directors to monitor and manage conflicts between client's contracts
  • Identify freelance needs and partner with client leads, finance and HR to secure and track resources
  • Manages the CEST assessment process for contractors and freelancers (to check employment status for tax)
  • Aligns with wider Resource Management team on holiday/absences to ensure the business is covered

About you:

  • Strong agency experience in operations/resource management within communications, media advertising, creative or marketing agency with strong planning and workflow management experience
  • Ability to analyse, evaluate and plan for resource needs to ensure project success and operational excellence.
  • Show curiosity about your practice areas and their skill sets; able to match talent to the right opportunity
  • Capacity to manage a busy workload and tight deadlines with high productivity
  • Responsive and flexible to ever-changing needs
  • Being organisational and problem-solving skills; exceptional attention to detail
  • Great communications skills: demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with all levels of a large organisation by addressing concerns and presenting mutually beneficial solutions
  • Show emotional intelligence and inter-personal skills; able to build consensus
  • Strong character that is comfortable enforcing scheduling controls and setting realistic expectations with both junior and senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be firm yet fair in all situations and understand the changing environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics PSA is preferred, but not essential.
